I just finished the first two episodes and before reading this article tried to think about what story this show is trying to tell, and I think the answer is, “what does it mean to be happy?”
Reading the article, sure enough, the author and I agree,
Pluribus is likely to get you thinking about, among other things, happiness (and the value of unhappiness)
The first episode is all about setting up the premise with hints of that overall theme, but the second episode really digs into it. The author of this article has seen 7 of 9 episodes, so it sounds like that’s going to remain consistent. They mentioned other things too, but I do think it comes back to that core concept.
Right now, two episodes in, it feels like a miniseries. Maybe a film turned into a miniseries. Not in a bad way where it’s stretched out, I think there is a lot to explore with this concept. But it is more of a concept.
In any case I’ll definitely be watching the whole season, but each episode will be a nice treat when I get around to it, not a must was as soon as it airs.
That’s a good summary thanks
I forgot this already premiered. Adding it to my watchlist this weekend.
Strange? Yes. Thrilling? Not so sure about that after watching the first two episodes.
How is it overall? I’ve been looking forward to it
First episode was inventive. Came off as sci fi/horror/character piece.
Second episode leaned into comedy and fell flat for me. I felt like out of six people, at least some of them would be a lot more scared/freaked out. Also why is she still driving that stupid POS truck?
Lol what? The truck is sick, even has automatic windows
Oh dear that doesn’t bode well. Hopefully it levels ofg
The truck dosen’t have a breath analyzer.
The concept is extremely compelling and Rhea’s performance is really good. The show isn’t holding its cards close to its chest which I’m finding very refreshing (I was expecting a bit more of a mystery show). I’ll go against the other commenter and say the second episode solidified the concept and made it clear what direction the show is going. I’m not sure how they can get 2+ seasons out of this but I’d be foolish to doubt Gilligan.
My question - as someone who didn’t get on at all with Breaking Bad, how does it compare?
