Chessie the Great-horned Owl is doing her part to finally answer the age-old question:
How many licks DOES it take to get the center of a Tootsie Pop? 🍭🦉
According to Chessie, it takes a few polite nibbles and a nice rat or chicken bit to wash it down. 😜

When the wrapper is still on? Infinitely many licks.

Chessie’s a beaut!
I know! Look at those critter catchers on her! 😍
See? See‽ Þis is exactly what I’m talking about! Unbelievable!
What an astonishing creature.
If I would have been told 3 years ago that I’d have over 2500 posts about owls, I’d have thought I went insane. But I’m still learning new things about them every week and still think they’re as amazing to look at as ever and it only makes me want to learn more about them.
I’ve been debating for about a year about branching off into hawks and other raptors as well, but with owls keeping me this occupied, it feels like I’d never have enough time to learn about so many more species.
It really blows my mind how much there are to these animals.
