I dunno, Far Cry actually feels like a reasonable fit for a show anyway compared to most games.
Theyre not really open to impactful decisions beyond the endings (which end up feeling samey), and most of the appeal comes from the exploration anyway.
An anthology about people being dumped into horrible survival situations writes itself anyway. So long as the creative director isn’t a nut job portraying the religious cult leader as being in the right…
I can sorta get it. It could be good, but probably nevertheless creatively bankrupt. Not as many original productions are made these days in television, movies, gaming, etc. You get mostly sequels and adaptations that just regurgitate the same ideas in different formats and styles.
A faithfully adapted Far Cry TV series would be fine, but I don’t think it could be “great” TV unless they try to do something wholly original with it that gets to the heart of what Far Cry is as a series, just because of inherent differences in the medium.
Please, no one tell Hollywood about No Man’s Sky, Dwarf Fortess, Portal or Subnautica.
I assume there is a 99% chance of a Cyberpunk 2077 and/or Red Dead Redemption movie/series in the next 5 years.
MMOs are probably safe after the Warcraft movie. Thanks for taking that one, WoW players.
Cyberpunk already has a TV series, which is pretty great and is getting a second season.
Cyberpunk already does with their Edgerunners anime on Netflix
it was really good and getting a second season too
Good and soul crushing.
The only thing I watched that was that well made and emotionally damaging was the bicycle thief.
The whole western is also overdone now too. It wouldn’t stand out if they made one based on the story. The story isn’t that unique either.

Except for that one time he was right.
A Portal movie with more then two characters would just be Cube.
Why?
Why do you have your testicular torsion over video games getting adaptations?

I keep praying to Zeus for a red dead show… it’s perfect for tv i wish they’d do it
