Not talking about pay harms you and benefits your employer. Don’t shy away from sharing the numbers and demand a raise if you think they are not fair.
And if your employer tries to stop you or give you into trouble for it, tell them to have a read of the Equality Act 2010 while kindly fucking themselves.

It’s illegal in the US, but I guess not in the UK.
I’ve done some quick searching and it seems that the 2010 Equality Act makes it “grants employees the right to discuss salary for collective bargaining or protection”, and that makes it illegal for employers to prohibit you from discussing your salary.
