Gas plant scandal? Hold my buck a beer.
- Doug Ford
Chances that he backtracks on this in a week?
I already read something about Ontario having to compensate the land developers for lost profit.
@Rumblestiltskin @voidavoid See? Ontarians will foot the bill, developers still get rich. There’s no way to truly win.
@zenheathen @Rumblestiltskin @voidavoid
I would consider criminal charges and some jail time a win.
This is so in your face corrupt there has to be at least two people face justice.
Surely they would only have had a “reasonable expectation of profit” if they were assured the land would be rezoned when they bought it? If, as Ford insists, there was no advanced telling, it should be all on them not taxpayers.
@hamishb @Rumblestiltskin @voidavoid We could just expropriate it – giving them what the land was worth in say, 1975.
Agricultural land should be priced as agricultural land; nature preserve should simply not have a retail value.
I hope that argument can be made in court but you just never know what was in that contract. We have seen the obvious corruption already I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more in the actual contracts.
Hope they have receipts for their donations to Dofo’s stag and doe.
Make him walk the entire length of the land he was trying to develop!
