    As long as meta has access to the fediverse, posts on lemmy can be funneled to threads through other federated channels. It does little to say “stop corpo” when they will monetize shit we say/do regardless if we like it or not. These corporations need to be unfederated as an all or nothing.

      Everything we post here is public. Meta can and probably is already scraping the fediverse without needing to federate.

      You’re posting on a public and indexable server.

      Wether Meta is federated or not, it really doesn’t affect their ability to scrape anything you publish here. Not that it would be particularly necessary, they already have more than enough users to get all the data they could want.
