The leaks in question were propaganda articles which painted Hamas in a bad light. They were “found on a computer” and corroborated everything Netanuahu had been saying for months. Extremely convenient.
The likelihood of these leaks being real was very low. This person being fired for leaking it even lower. Maybe Israel believes some theater will give it credence?
Between the lines: The scandal will likely deepen the mistrust and tension between Netanyahu and the IDF and intelligence services, which has been growing since the security failures around the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.
