You would be surprised. There are multiple incidents of the same medieval Christian European ruler inviting in, and then subsequently expelling (and seizing the property of) Jewish communities, often accompanied by extremely antisemitic rhetoric.

I am indeed surprised, but also believe it did happen. Probably spread around through gossip like a medieval TikTok trend and fief dudes did it en masse because it was free money at a visibly no loss to them.

The more you look through history, the more you see its echoes reflect in the modern age.

I wouldn’t really call it echoes, one big conflict with Israel and suddenly everyone hates Jews.

Like, sure, go hate the country of Israel, but why do people suddenly hate Jews? Almost like they never stopped.

Old habits die hard, I guess. But it’s still disgusting how some people “support Palestine” just so they can hate Jews openly.

I’m not saying people like that don’t exist, but let’s not forget that the people who harbor the most antisemitism (the right) also happen to hate Palestinians’ guts and support Israel’s right to commit genocide.

I never claimed it was different, but the wave of antisemitism among the liberal population was really surprising to me. And not much of the human shittiness surprises me anymore, so it was kind of an achievement in itself.

You expect the shitty bigoted people to be, well, shitty and bigoted, but self-proclaimed liberals who are all into tolerance, that I found somehow worse.
