I might be reading too much into a specific visual choice here, but IIRC even that might’ve been a false flag operation. The arachnid home planet is shown on a map to be on the other side of the galaxy, so not exactly asteroid throwing distance.

I think the SS uniforms, the eagles in the flag and the emblems, the social darwinist attitudes, passionate hate towards the bugs (a disgusting subhuman enemy which needs to be genocided for a final solution) and dismissals of logic in favor of propagandistic appeals to emotion are much more apparent examples. Also the fact that all the actors got cast for their looks in true propaganda movie fashion.

The protagonists home could’ve been anywhere for the same plot, so my interpretation was that the city was named just to drive home the point that there’s only one global state.

To expand on that, it tricks the viewer into getting seduced by that fascism. The main point is to show the viewer that you aren’t immune to it. It’s much easier to get swept up in the jingoistic hate for the subhuman enemy when said enemy is actually nonhuman. Wisecrack made a good video breakdown of this some years ago.

Well I’m quite certain that they were wrong. Wikipedia has a neat list with pictures of all the species of penguins. King Penguin is the closest, but those have much stronger oranges on the sides of their necks.

Those are emperor penguins. Adults are about 1 m tall. Scale is way off in this slop.

Just using email while also doing something important doesn’t make a job a fake job. Fake jobs are the kind of jobs that society would be fine without. Marketing, sales development, hr. Jobs which exist solely to peddle around useless emails like competitive reviews, social listening reports, messaging matrixes, research debriefs, etc., or responding to such bs in an ever escalating cycle of useless burecracy.

I haven’t seen that field show up for companion node settings, but for relays it’s there. I guess companions rarely transmit often enough to warrant it.

And it was at 50% default for me as well with the EU/UK narrow preset. And I would suspect that if you’re setting up a relay, you probably should’ve at least glanced at what’s allowed on the freq you’re using.

RDR2 for me as well. At least there’s options. I would probably play it safe by ditching the gang before I contract tuberculosis and just live as a hunter up in the mountains. The mechanics of the game would make that quite easy compared to IRL.

Alternatively, the epilogue does seem nice.
