Soon as I saw Walton Goggins on the cast list, I knew it had to be good somewhere. He never disappoints.

Just wanted to chime in as well: Thought I’d watch one episode, watched all eight in the end. It was really good.

Great, so it’ll take AI to set 16GB as minimum.
I still shudder that there are machines still being sold with 8GB RAM, that’s just barely enough.

Meanwhile all the scammers and spammrs still get to post their ads.

This is me. Saw a cool keycap set the other day, and before I knew it BOOM! New keyboard.
I only have 4 (working ones) so far, but that’s still probably one too many. xD

I use the app/menu all the time in Excel.

Two keys, and they’ve actually been useful. This one, errrrrrrr, not so much. Copilot is barely baked, if you ask me,

Mine’s set to the Application/Menu key on tap, and as a Fn modifier when held, so the WASD keys act as the arrows, Q and E as PageUp/Down, and R and F as Home and End. It’s gotten so convenient I do that subconciously on keyboards that don’t do that, and I end up with SSSSSSSSS or EEEEEEEEEEE.

Nevermind that, an approach like what Sharp and the old PDAs did with transflective displays would be pretty neat too. But I suspect what’ll happen is that they’ll be called out for not providing “rich colours and deep blacks”.

How bad is the scalping? I’m in Singapore and the price premium is about 10%.

The higher price isn’t permanent.
I’ve worked in camera retail and the local shops do just that, actually, and it’s effective. The FOMO people get their stuff first at a higher price, the shop gets a boost in margins, and everyone else gets to enjoy cheaper prices three months later (and have the early adopters sit through the bugs and first-run issues).

And that’s with a fairly active mod team too. Imagine the spam if there were no controls.

Wife’s Nothing(1) seems just fine. My only issue with the design is how it acts like an echo chamber for the haptic motor. It actually is quite noisy at the higher settings.

What’s a bump stock? Went to read about them; the inventing company has stopped making them, are they still easy to get?
They popped up the range targets, so not as tight as a packed crowd, but you’d think at least one would get hit. My impression was that it was really hard to control the recoil making the barrel going up, so most of my rounds just went over the targets.

As much as USA is pro-gun, I thought automatics are not sold?
Regardless as the other comment says, firing on full auto is a waste of ammo. Back in service our first range practice we were given the Rambo-fantasy; hip firing at full auto at 10 metres out. No one hit any of the targets. It was a lesson to us that firearms, as easy as they are to use, needed at least some skill to be effective.

Where were you doing COVID? That was when the phrase really was at its peak, as everyone was doing that to keep up with the news.

Windows already works on ARM, but some X86 programs are still a little slow. The Snapdragons previously used weren’t as fast as the Apple silicon too, so that didn’t help. The original Surface X did have a lot more problems, but Surface 9 on ARM from all reports works well.

A Surface with this and 15 hour battery life would be pretty epic.
Huh, Ha Long Bay is a ghost town? It’s one of the most crowded places in Vietnam, I didn’t go there when I went because it has a reputation of a factory; tourists in, tourists out, on a schedule.
