It really is like a feudal system. There’s a reason why the HBO series Succession is framed like the politics between a lord, his heirs, and his vassals.

Definitely not a Valve W though.
I have no idea how some people can worship a corporation so strongly.
Apologies for the Xitter link, but it looks like the main character Atsu is being portrayed by Erika Ishii.

We don’t need to start from Hobbes
Recommends Hobbes as a starting point
I agree 100% but just had a bit of a giggle
Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?
Guessing this is why they changed the term “Apple ID” to “Apple Account”
It’s just incentive for developed nations to produce more automated weapons of war.
I don’t get it. I am trying to reverse push it with my palm but every time I move my hand back the door doesn’t come with it.
Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, etc. Non-western countries who are also generally prosperous and are known for quality healthcare.
I didn’t mean it in a dismissive way, but there’s a lot more countries than the Northwest Europe Privilege Corridor + their successful colonies. I just think there’s more to compare with that won’t leave the picture feeling so incomplete and Eurocentric.
I know US healthcare is in dire need of improvement, but I do have to find the choice of just 9 other cherry-picked countries to be an odd comparison. If this was rephrased as “US is #10 in healthcare globally”, I still wouldn’t buy that, but that’s essentially what this article seems to imply and doesn’t sound quite as negative as it should.
You’re ok with me losing my rights then, and for that I sincerely resent you.
Religion has very flawed ideas regarding community, however. It always results in a hierarchical structure and works to exclude those who don’t abide by its values.
It is possible to be a good, selfless person and be religious, but I don’t think it’s possible to have religion without enabling power-grabbing, insular practices too.
My gut had me wanting to say the same thing, but looking at the age ranges, this actually seems reasonable and in line with how many other countries operate. By 6 years old, students in the US are in first grade, for example. Kindergarten a year or two prior as well, which is also compulsory in some states.
You’re Mormon and you call yourself a socialist?
Socialism is the antithesis of religion.
Oh no, someone please think about the poor white millionaire’s feelings.
Not a battery but sure, that’s what I was suggesting.
So what other kind of battery would a pager be using that might explode if not lithium? Hydrogen cell?
Hard to know if the patent is expired when they haven’t even officially announced which ones they plan to bring forward in the suit.
The only info I was aware of so far is that there were multiple claims they were making.
