I block it every time it pops up, which is 5 or 6 times at this point. They all get banned eventually. I recommend using the report button as well.
Maria Bamford agrees.

1·2 days agoAwesome album. I’ve listened through twice since this was posted. I don’t know if it’s just my headphones, but the compression on the recording seems a bit much.
Because everything is awful.

There’s thing thing called L’esprit_de_l’escalier where you think of the witty response too late. The thing is, those situations tend to pop up again, and if you’ve practiced it in your mind, you’ll be ready next time.
Also, listen to how stand-up comics deal with hecklers.
Read Douglas Adams. He has so many useful turns of phrases you can repurpose for any situation.
If all else fails, not responding at all can be incredibly powerful.
Also, not caring about changing minds and just mocking idiots is very freeing.

Love it! I discovered these guys only a couple of years ago and was surprised to learn they’ve been putting out shitloads of quality rock and roll since the early nineties. It’s appalling they’re not more widely known.
True, but most of them just don’t pay taxes. Musk actively takes money.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does centrist mean sometimes left/sometimes right or neighter left at any point.English
4·2 days agoThat’s what I prefer to call a pragmatist. ‘Centrist’ to me these days seems to more indicate indecisiveness. For what it’s worth, as a pragmatist, the conservative side of politics is pretty much never right.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Americans have no one else to blame but themselvesEnglish
9·2 days agoNothing will change until the USA reforms the education system from the ground up, and even then it’ll take a couple of generations at least. The owner class will resist that every step of the way.

In case of a car-jacking, obviously.
