Optional@lemmy.worldOPto politics @lemmy.world•DNC pushes back on David Hogg’s plans to support primary challenges against Democratic incumbents | CNN Politics2·44 minutes agoI think we’re all there on “school shootings bad” so what’s the specifics you’d like to see? That’s where the hot takes die because something concrete has to be supported.
Banning all guns from school property? Stronger gun buying restrictions? What?

Optional@lemmy.worldOPto politics @lemmy.world•DNC pushes back on David Hogg’s plans to support primary challenges against Democratic incumbents | CNN Politics1·50 minutes agoThey clearly lack the risk tolerance and gumption to deal with current internal challenges in their country.
I didn’t get that from the article. I thought the article was showcasing some real gumption to change things, something the RNC would never dream of in a million years (or need to).

So it’s not the status quo. Or it is. But it can’t be both.
People need to make up their minds why they’re mad about it.

Optional@lemmy.worldOPto politics @lemmy.world•DNC pushes back on David Hogg’s plans to support primary challenges against Democratic incumbents | CNN Politics2·55 minutes agoI think the article is saying they’re not doing the same shit. Not doing it in two different ways, even.
And I’m all for electing the best people to get what we want, but Deez Nutz and Jill Stein ain’t gonna get it. Reforming the DNC is our best shot.

The question going forward is whether Mr. Trump is internalizing these economic and political lessons or merely pausing to fight his trade war another day. We doubt even Mr. Trump knows the answer, since so much of his decision-making is ad hoc. He’ll keep his universal 10% tariff in any case.
That’s the harshest paragraph in the whole thing, and it’s a reason I don’t like to see so many Huffpo and DailyBeast articles - especially if the comm isn’t going to allow Wonkette for ‘not being a true news source’ because those publications are just hype and click farms.

Optional@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Hello everyone new here, can anyone tell how this platform works?2·6 hours agoThere’s no algorithm so it’s up to you to block communities you don’t have an interest in. If you see a user you constantly don’t like you can block them too. By structuring it that way you’ll get a feed of things you want to see and people you want to hear from.
(You can always un-do a block if you change your mind)

“I know my keys are around here somewhere”
Fair enough then. Probably not a good national strategy but personally it sounds ok.
