  • The voting system prefers big parties, and with bullshit like “winner compensation” the winner of popular vote has a huge chance for supermajority automatically. On one of the previous elections Fidesz got supermajority with only 45% of popular vote. It’s hard to get a simple majority in this system, if you win you win big.

    Before this election the opposition was a lot of small parties, and the system worked for Orbán. Now there are only 2 parties, (and the actual nazis) the winner takes it all, and 4 years of economic stagnation angered a lot of people.

    The new parlament will have 3 parties according to polls, centre right Tisza around 60%, Fidesz (populist right) 30%, Our Homelend (far right) 5%. Sounds like fun
