This is exactly the case. The made the $80 version the budget edition. One where you get an incomplete package for not paying the $100 that the game actually costs.

I just can’t see a reason to spend that much on a second PC. My GPU was almost the price of the Steam machine though so it isn’t a terrible value proposition in this current landscape. I just don’t need another machine.

I’d rather shell out of a 9070XT/5080 type card once every 5-6 years instead of a 3060 tier card once a generation.
I hope longer upgrade cycles for both companies will force more game optimizations and less ewaste over time.

Says the guy whose comment makes him sound like an insufferable slob.

He looks like he is a mob boss goon batman fights. That obviously died hair and hair piece isn’t doing him any favors. Yikes.

You’re living in a fantasy land. Nobody appears when they’re needed, you just happened to look up when they had a moment free.
You act like a guy bringing you fish and chips is some genie in a bottle popping out when you need a top off on your Diet Coke. Give me a break lmao.

It was definitely going to replace my Xbox Series X as my TV box. M$ has shit the bed for the last time and I’m not interested in giving that ecosystem any more of my money.
If the Steam machine really is crazy expensive I’ll likely hold onto my X for years to come and eventually switch to an Apple TV or something.

That is what I’ve been holding out for, but what the heck is that bundle going to cost? Seems like the price will be not worth it if you already have PC and consoles.

They don’t call it HARDware for nothin!

I had it on my wish list but decided to wait for the steam machine and see what the total out the door price for the console and controller would be. Unfortunately now the console is nowhere to be found and the controllers are back ordered until next year.
I was gifted an Xbox Elite 2 controller years ago and have already had to take it apart to lube up the bumper buttons. It’s a fine controller but they fail at an insanely high rate for the price. Bummer that the Steam Controller couldn’t get out the door on time.
Not that I saw. I won’t buy from them at this point. Anyone who purposefully posts the SS doesn’t get my money.

That series in general seems like a great fit for Nintendo. Contrary to the Xbox approach of buying up anything to see what sticks.
Turns out the shotgun approach is expensive and also yields minimal results. Shocker.

Sad I’ll never get a psychonauts 3 but can’t say I’m surprised. They cleared don’t make enough money to continue to be San Francisco paid devs. They have a large catalog that move people have never heard of or played.
Sounds a lot like the US. Homelessness is a problem without a solution that can be monetized. The only answer the government has is to completely eradicate any social comforts like park benches, public transit, or third places that don’t require you to buy a coffee to just sit and wait.
God forbid someone sleeps on a park bench because then the city will install anti-homeless chairs that are so uncomfortable nobody sits in them anyways.
But what can I say, richest country in the world or something.
Thank you, it’s a basic shot but I thought it turned out. I enjoy photos of the monotony.

I use Narwhal 2 for now. $5 a month is a small price to pay for the largest aggregation of information outside of Wikipedia.
Once they force the proprietary app on me I’ll likely be out. It’s a bloated cartoonish app.
I like Lemmy a lot but like people are saying it needs more users. I try and post my own content to practice what I preach.
I have noticed this around Lemmy and see some of these comments. As a left leaning redditor it is a similar turn off as the Digg beta.

If anything, it’s good to have a mass produced option from Steam. Eventually when I’m priced out of building big badass rigs I’ll look to Steam to provide a plug and play console experience.
I’m on my dream PC build, and at this point I don’t really care to build another one again. Console simplicity is great now that I can play most things 60-120 fps.

I couldn’t agree more. Generally I’m only down on the world when I look at Reddit. It’s important to have a community of real people in rotation.
Moving to Lemmy helped because I only see what I subscribe to and there is no algorithm that is shoving politics in my face constantly.
We can do nothing. Now people are getting 30 year sentences for protesting in Texas. They are clearly sending a message that we will be shot in the streets like Alex Pretti or we will be thrown in jail.
