Since it’s hellworld, I’m sure the answer will be no but…is it irrational to ask ourselves whether their complete mask off moment is happening a bit too quickly?

Material conditions are getting worse, make no mistake. Capitalism is due for a catastrophic event. But, we’re kind of not there yet, and the chuds are making such a big stink about being the catalysts for this once in a generation ™ extinction event in capitalism. And the amount of poo, So much poo, they throw it everywhere and they do it so loudly that even the most politically unaware are made aware of their pant shitting wrecking this paper tiger of an economy.

So that combined with all the flat out fucking weird and supremely distasteful shit they’re doing and saying makes me feel like they’re overplaying their hand. Atp they just have to kill all of us because i can’t imagine they’re not turning off a lot of normies

I dunno, there’s a lot of people who are pretty content with being bigoted through some veil of propriety, don’t think they want to fight on the kkk frontlines and be confronted for it. But I’m probably being extremely hopeful.

Look, I know my doomerism is well recorded. So I won’t make this comment a big spiral how we’re all doomed, but I think this question is important.

Back in the aughts, when was there this cultural turning point where it seemed less like the chuds won the culture wars forever and Obama could possibly be viable? Was there like a big slip-up or a cultural L the chuds took like a lefty gamergate or something? I know the atheist movement was popular on YouTube at the time, and some folks like Sam Harris spoke in a way to make chuddery less cool. Not only was being a chud disrespectful, but it was inaccurate and only stupid people cling to bigotry to feel better about themselves.

TL;DR: Not to tangent too much, but what worked and didn’t work against chuds in the aughts? Was there a “gamergate of the left” moment back then or just a series of VERY quiet cultural victories?

The failure of the troop surge in Iraq combined with the global financial crisis to make USAmericans feel like losers. Bush’s folksy stupid guy persona turned sour, he went from “a guy I want to have a beer with” to “a stupid piece of shit that ruined everything.”

Left-wing radicalization moment: “I lost my fucking job thanks to the whims of the ruling class.”

Right-wing radicalization moment: “game protagonists have COOTIES now!”

Chuds are the pinnacle of first world problems.

If Obama had actually done some of the popular things he had promised, the political landscape would be incredibly different today. He captured a huge amount of support across the spectrum because he, like trump, was saying out loud that things weren’t great and change was needed. He burned the whole thing down by being a standard ass neoliberal and disillusioned millions of people.
