It’s sort of the same thing with how support for Israel has dropped like a stone, especially but not exclusively among young and “young” voters, while our ruling class has only doubled down its support for it (albeit with a closer eye to PR and selective “restraint”). People feel comforted to know they aren’t alone but it’s not nearly enough. The powers that be can act however they want because, at the end of the day, most of us will post about how much we hate whatever they do, but will still go to work the next day.
