Apparently Petro is trying to move Trump away from supporting the far right in the country, which has been calling for interventionism and coup. One possibility is that Petro is willing to be buttery with Trump at this moment to consolidate the elections in May. Which could be not that bad a tactic IMO.

On the protest Petro called for yesterday just I saw 3 different gringo flags being burned. Several more were burned throughout the country.

Petro’s presidency has been marked by compromise and triangulation, so I expect him to give some concessions to be left alone. I wouldn’t put it past him if this was another Petro 4d chess move.
