Yo.
I used this concept in my homebrew D&D world to connect major cities. I also have a Shrike in my world that is a product of a complex ritual by a race of creatures trying to accelerate the apocalypse. There’s an inland grass sea my players often traverse by ship to get to pertinent places in their region.
