I’ve never understood how what you choose to do is supposed to matter when they claim God knows everything, and everything that happens in your life is all going according to God’s plan. If these idiots weren’t so conditioned to worship their imaginary Sky-Daddy on fear of an eternal punishment from the all-powerful asshole that’s supposed to love them no matter what, half the world’s problems would disappear instantly.
I recently learned theirs a term for people who argue we have free will and predestination https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatibilism . It’s mostly a Calvinist belief?. IMO its kinda dumb but interesting nonetheless
I only read the summary (because all I’ve ever cared about in life is what’s most likely to be the actual truth - as I age, I’ve got much less time and energy to spend on explanations for what are obviously in the end still effectively the same bullshit sidetracking that people choose to fall for). Mildly interesting justification for what is still inherently just another coping mechanism for those that prefer cling to their bullshit fantasies instead of accepting the actual truth reality dictates they will have to deal with sooner or later.
Thanks for sharing, tho - I’ve bookmarked it for further reference should I need it when I’m in yet another pointless religious debate.
