CW: This is a disturbing video.

I don’t want to start thread after thread of ICE horrors so I’m making this ~1 minute vid a comment in here. It’s ICE cosplaying as SWAT. One of them even uses a shield.

ICE goons abducted a Minneapolis family at gunpoint today in a lawless, early-morning raid.

I wish I hadn’t watched it. I’m going to walk around in my backyard now for a few minutes to try to relax. I have autoplay disabled all over the net. But I have a habit of saying to myself “I need to see this” even for ICE kidnapping videos so I click on vids anyway. I’m going to have to break that habit. I’m breaking that habit as of right now.

In some alternate universe - somebody (a “radical” relative or something?) educates the very young me on copaganda avant la lettre. This happens before the SWAT tv series is broadcast in 1975 and I bet by high school I realize leftism is the answer. In our universe though - I thought SWAT was a very cool show. And many decades had to pass before I reached leftism.

Google actually worked. I wondered how old the term copaganda is. This site claims the first known usage is from 2003.

        Copaganda

The origins of the term “copaganda” (a portmanteau of “cop” and “propaganda”) are unclear. At present, the word appears to have been first used by Greg Beato, who wrote in 2003 that “mostly Hollywood has simply churned out malignant copaganda that glamorizes police brutality and normalizes the idea that the only good cop is a bad cop.”

I’m very sorry for all of us who have been/are/will be traumatized, because of these events; I hope seeing it on home soil raises some awareness of how we’ve been treating citizens of other states, that we don’t see.

That video from yesterday about ice being the german SA keeps coming back to me, these subhuman monsters really are “thugs”. Brutes, barbarians, knuckle-draggers, I could go on, only a coward does this to a child.

I’ve noticed more and more Bluesky comments indirectly or even directly calling for violence. That really surprises me. You can get your account quickly nuked over there for that. Plus when it comes to the government digital is forever and I assume Trump’s DOJ will start prosecuting plain, old normies for telling “terrorist” ICE jokes online.

I don’t have kids or at this point grandkids. If my purely theoretical little ones were in danger from ICE - [redacted]. I can’t believe that hasn’t happened already.

ashamed that I didn’t think to point out the massive disparity in undocumented immigrant populations between Minnesota and literally anywhere else in my argument with my dipshit chud coworker until a bluesky liberal comment mentioned it
