I’m considering buying a duffle bag and I’ve heard good things about the brand, but if it’s only good for 4-5 years before degrading then I’d rather get something else.

Update 7/12/23: I bought an Aeronaut and it’s supposed to arrive soon. Looking forward to it.

I have a travel bag I bought from them around 2017. It was my daily driver for transporting my laptop and gear to and from work until I started WFH in 2019, it is also my main carry-on bag when I travel.

It still looks and feels brand new, nothing about it feels even close to breaking.

YMMV, and I don’t know about recent years, but I would absolutely buy from them again if I had a need.

Agreed. I’ve owned an Aeronaut 45 since 2015-ish, have flown transcontinental at least monthly since, no signs of aging, breaking, etc. These bags are absolutely bulletproof and I would not hesitate to recommend. Cannot speak to recent trends but if past history is an indicator, there shouldn’t be an issue.

The company was “recently” sold, but I haven’t noticed a drop in quality with the usual stuff I get (ballistic fabric or nothing at all). I recently purchased some yeoman duffels that feel just like the ones I’ve had for years.

Still rocking the same Brain Bag i got close to 15 years ago.

Fyi there is a onebag community (can’t remember which instance) that could help with this. Afaik the quality hasn’t dropped but they were bought out only a little bit ago.

I can’t speak to the last couple years, but I bought one about 4 years ago and it still looks like new. My wife also has one that we’ve drug through a couple caves, and it still looks brand new, too.
