RFK said that he defunded all research into idea that autism is genetically inherited and said that he believes that autism is caused by environmental factors.

The purpose of the ‘tylenol causes autism’ announcement was basically to defund all government research on Autism.

Also it’s not just a RFK thing. Trump is a long time antivaxxer himself. This is weird because Trump celebrated his ‘Operation Warp Speed’ vaccine, even though his base made up conspiracy theories that Trump’s vaccine would kill you. Trump said some things during the announcement the MMR vaccine being bad because it was 3 vaccines in 1 and that babies are being injected with too much liquid.

Something to consider about the right wing worldview is that they often believe in a thing called the ‘Just World’ fallacy. This way of thinking supposes that the world as it exists is perfectly fair: if good things happen to you then it is because you do the right stuff and if bad things happen to you it is because you did something to deserve it.

Right wingers are predisposed into believing that someone who have autism did something to deserve it.

Do insiders even get a bunch of money by shorting random bullshit? Like they’re really just making money on fucking Robinhood and whatever bank that mortals use? Seems like there’s more money to be made in gambling on health insurance CDOs or something. Insider options trading seems a bit pedestrian.

Force women to be in more pain than necessary while pregnant. Defund autism research. Blame individuals for a largely genetic condition. Label us as defective and float plans about sending us to labor camps (sorry, wellness centers or whatever). It’s pretty much a win win win for them

As a diagnosed, high-functioning autistic and ADHD person - although I would say barely-functioning is more accurate - I know I would still struggle in society even under an advanced stage of socialism.

This is why I don’t like when people say it is not a disability but merely a neurological difference, I know they mean well but it is a take that is detached from reality. I can acheive what people without my disabilities can but to get there is far harder for me, it’s like I have to walk through the mud while others naturally get given their own rally car.

Anyway, I know that with the right support offered and the necessary societal reforms made, I would struggle a lot less and could actually be in a role which utilises some of my more ‘unique gifts’ such as strong visual memory, heightened senses, fast problem-solving, calmness under chaos e.t.c. And this will never happen under a profit driven society, capitalism will adapt to autistics but not for the benefit of autists but to better utilise them/us as those ‘useful weirdos’ in the money making machine.

Yeah well said man, and I wasn’t criticising you if it came across that way it was not intended, I was just sharing my perspective on top of what you said.

This has been my experience too to the point where if someone came up with a working medication to turn me neurotypical I’d take it in a heartbeat. That could be internalized ableism though, I dunno.

There were real studies suggesting acitominophen use in pregnancy may be correlated with increased risk of autism, but later studies nullified that.
