Nicole Ozer, a legal expert on privacy and surveillance, artificial intelligence, and digital speech, has been appointed as executive director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Ozer will succeed Cindy Cohn, who has been with EFF for more than 25 years and served as its executive director since 2015.

She will be succeeding Cindy Cohn who has spent her career fighting the good fight. I was listening to an interview with her by Cory Doctorow, she’s had an impressive record with the EFF, and it sounds like she wants to get back to the courtroom and leave the administration to a new generation.

    Wow, I honestly wasn’t expecting that!

    I actually got to meet Cindy Cohn at an event she did recently, and she’s definitely really knowledgeable and seems to be a damn good leader.

    Sad to see she’s stepping down, but I don’t blame her for it. She’s been at it for a long time!

    Also, if anyone’s considering it, yes, her new book is quite good, and you should most definitely get it!
