Was it ever any surprise that Google will do what it wants with Chromium?
And Mozilla will do what it wants with Firefox. But you know what they’re not doing? Baking in an ad platform.
Would they, if they could? To raise revenue I mean.
I sure hope not, but even if they did Firefox is open source so it wouldn’t affect any of the independent forks like Fennec or Librewolf
As a non-profit they really have no reason to, they’d have to justify the added revenue with added expenditures.
Is this being baked into Chromium itself or just Chrome? If it’s Chromium itself I guarantee you a lot of the various third-party Chromium browsers are going to jump ship, or remove that from their builds.
