Looks like there’s a mod going rogue on the announcements comm.

Serious is removing and banning anyone pointing out how terrible of a move defedederating from db0 and AN would be, or anyone pointing out his removals. Calling them disinformation comments then banning them for same reason.

https://lemmy.world/modlog/5

Unless this is expected behavior where anything that a mod doesn’t like becomes disinformation?

Edit 18hrs after post.

No answers so again apparently this is accepted behavior. Sadly not shocked

Edit 2, 2days later.

Still nothing but insults from a head lemmy world mod. Really great look for lemmy world

Edit 3, 10 days later.

Mod in question retaliated by banning me instance wide for reporting tos breaking comments, and then apologizing to said account here.

@ruud@lemmy.world @MrKaplan@lemmy.world @lwadmin@lemmy.world

Is this acceptable behavior for mods in your opinion? Retaliation and attacking users reporting rule breaking comments?

The zionist crybullying really is what ties this all together. That user explicitly supports “a state, where they are the majority”, aka an ethnostate. One where jews have extra privileges, one where, if the arab population became too big, they would have to do ethnic cleansing. Like they are doing in palestine and lebanon right now! This user talks about “israel proper, the west bank and gaza” aka they don’t recognize any land as palestinian, they want it all. They aren’t even coy about their expansionist settler fantasy, this person does not just get platformed but coddled and protected.

Lots of states with an ethnic majority exist in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. People have a right to self determination. Denying Israel this very right to exist with a Jewish majority, while simultaneously demanding a Palestine with Arab majority is a double standard.

The expulsion of Shia in southern Lebanon is a war crime and I’m against it. I use West Bank and Gaza to refer to territory explicitly. Palestine can refer to different territories, including the Kingdom of Jordan. I support the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank.

The comment in the screenshot is the opposite of that? They explicitly said they don’t support what’s happening in the West Bank or Gaza.

He said that most palestinians left by their own and not forced by isrsel destroying hundred of villages. He is using hamas and hizbollah as an excuse to justify iarael starting the war knowing very well israel’s ideology of ethenic cleansing.

Shameful to defend those type of people

Right, I wasn’t talking about that comment. There are the liberal zionists and the honest zionists but you can see past the mask when they use their dog whistles like “Israel proper”: What other “Israel” is there? Well, the yet-unsettled “Israel” of course. South lebanon, gaza, west bank. “From the river to the sea” is actually also used by the zionists [1] and the call “palestine will be free” is the counter to that. So when they say that it’s call to genocide, they mean that because that’s how they use it. But it’s not true when we use it.

And you can clearly see the many many hasbara talking points, which I don’t care to debunk one-by-one. If you actually want to learn more yourself you can look any of these up on websites like palestineremembered.com, since a lot of it is downplaying the nakba https://www.palestineremembered.com/WhatIsNakba.html is a good place to start I think. There is also https://decolonizepalestine.com/ which is a lot less dense in historical detail if you’re looking for a general overview. I’m sure there are other great websites, these two are my go-to if someone is spreading lies and I have the time and energy to debunk them.

I mean I haven’t shown them the evidence directly so they’ll just handwave it away, since we are bound by the Rules of Proper Debate to prove every little thing in excruciating detail before any action is contemplated while they can just run roughshod with the mod tools when it suits them. It’s unlikely that a call to genocide palestinians will receive mod action as long as there is even the tiniest shred of plausible deniability.
