    i don’t believe this. i’m not an expert but the explanation i heard of the physics involved was that between the pressure the vessel was under and the failure mode of the carbon fiber hull, any noticeable crack would lead to the immediate smoothiefication of any part of the occupants that wasn’t incinerated first. ig anything’s possible but unless that recording comes up i’m inclined to believe they had no more information about the safety of that bullshit than when they got on.

        i mean, don’t get me wrong. listening to stockton rush talk for 10 minutes in that coke can would have me breathing heavy too. there’s certainly the possibility he accidentally let slip how the vessel had been progressively cracking apart. it’s just it’s a weird thing to cover up.
