I’m visiting Germany, Italy and France over the next few weeks. I won’t have access to a kitchen most of the time, but I am going to want snacks. It has taken me a lot of time to find my favorite snacks in my home country, and I won’t have that much time in each country to try all of your delicious and less delicious offerings.
So:
- What’s your favorite snacks, fit for a movie night, a long train ride, a low effort lunch or a hike?
- What’s the name of the store that usually sell these snacks?
- Any other advice you have for a vegan visitor to your country?

In Germany, you HAVE to try Crunchips Western Style. It’s the best Chip flavour ever. Any normal grocery store should have them.
NicNacs, those breaded peanuts, are also pretty tasty, but not vegan in their normal version. Only the BBQ flavour is vegan, but most stores carry their own store-brand version of them and those usually are vegan (but you have to go by the ingredients list, it seems pretty rare that they use the actual V-Label).
For sweets, Katjes is a super solid brand (I bet they’re not exclusive to Germany). My fave from them are their rainbow unicorn gummies:
Oh, yum!! I will try to find these, everything seems sooo good! Thank you
