It sounded to me like you were equating putting salt/oil in pasta water to making shit pasta. The oil part I understand as it is literally useless but most people put salt in pasta water which is why I was confused by your comment

You can put the pasta water into your plants - assuming you made pasta without adding oil or salt to the water - AKA making shit pasta
