    Yeah, I’ve been to Vietnam a couple times and my girlfriend at the time who was from there needed medical treatment.

    I was panicking like “How can we afford that? You don’t have insurance?” She looked at me like I was crazy. She walked in, got treated, picked up a prescription, and the whole thing cost less than $5…

    That was probably the beginning of my long walk towards socialism…

    It’s funny cause maybe a year prior to that, we went camping on the beach and I grilled some hamburgers over charcoal. She texted a picture home saying “Mom, I love capitalism!”

    I didn’t even realize she was dunking on me. At the time I felt like I had basically won the cold war… 🙄

        No, I was a total dunce back then. Honestly I don’t know why she stayed with me as long as she did, but I’m grateful to her for opening my eyes even though I didn’t truly wake up until long after we had broken up. She planted those seeds though.
