I’ve noticed several newpipe derivatives having issues recently, it is a protocol thing? Did the YT API change in some places?
YouTube (or Google) is planning an update to stop apps such as NewPipe from working. I uninstalled Google Play Services due to it.

Are you using obtainium to update or fdroid?
I’ve noticed in the past fdroid would lag behind a bit and I wouldn’t be able to watch videos until the update made it over
Hmm, I use PipePipe itself. It sends you a notification that redirects ti the GitHub when a new update is avaliable.
Oddly I found updating my newpipe often works and turning off my VPN. Unsure if it works for you but its often a fix for my phone.
