The author is pointing out that Republican rhetoric doesn’t match reality. “You’re living in Hell!” Trump said, but that’s not the case. Immigrants haven’t flooded the country, the Republican-forecasted crime wave hasn’t materialized, Democrats aren’t going to jail, etc.
