Idk exactly but in the US if you get arrested you’re gonna get ID’d no matter what you do, so having the ID to prove who you are quickly and with minimal bullshit could be beneficial
Presumably the number is hidden under your sleeve and only matters in the case that you’re arrested, in which case again you’re getting identified either way

Your arms should be covered anyways but you write your local NLG chapter"s number on multiple places on your body as police have been known to use hand sanitizer to remove it from your arms so you can’t call for help. Writing it in a nonvisible spot like your thigh as well as your arm can be extremely helpful.
