I just hope it won’t get quite as toxic as the reddit sub could get (at least back when I checked it a long while ago). If a sub has to make a “LowSodiumCyberpunk”, that means the community has serious problems. I hope this time around, we won’t need to split the community in half.

Imagine subscribing to a community just to talk about how much you hate the game the community is gathered to bond over. Those folk lead sad, sad lives. FWIW, after Edge Runners, everyone jumped on the train going in the other direction so it got better.

I have hope that Lemmy is pulling the cream off of Reddit, right now. The kinds of people that care enough to research a new platform and start to build it before it becomes the obvious better solution. We should be fine for a least a few years. At least until we get all the kinks worked out,

I mean the community was toxic on the early days due to the rough launch and reputation nowadays the original sub is for general memes and news while lowsodium is for discussions

Let’s be real though: It wasn’t the community that had serious problems, it was the game that had serious problems. It may well be that you did enjoy it, but pointing out all the flaws and bugs and CDPR’s shameful way of dealing with them is a valid thing to do. I hope we can agree that we don’t ever want to have such a catastrophic launch with any AAA game again, but given how the industry has changed with the big money it attracted, it’s not very likely that it won’t happen again.

I’m still wondering whether it will be included for people who already bought the main game or preordered it. They suggested it would be previously, but everything points towards it being a paid DLC for everyone.

From what I understand everybody will have to buy it. Of course it’s nice to get things for free (especially if they previously stated it would be). But if it’s good DLC rich of content I don’t mind paying. It was the same for me with the two expansion sized DLCs in the Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 is exactly what I’m referring to - if you bought the PC version directly from CDPR on GOG, you got all future DLC and eventually the GOTY edition.

I have the game on PS5 and the DLC shows as 29.99 in the PS Store preorder section.

Yeah I was only referring to purchases for PC, from them directly on GOG. In the past they’ve included future DLC.

100% it will not, I’m not sure where that idea came from? They never said there would be a free expansion that I ever saw.

There were a couple mentions of it. Previously, purchasing directly from GOG would get you all future DLC, then later your purchase would be upgraded to GOTY edition. Eg with Witcher 3.

I’m going to start a new playthrough when the big update drops that reworks everything. I feel like that will be the best way to experience all the changes being made to both the base game and the dlc. Really hyped for both! It looks awesome

Me too. I had the silly notion that I’d be able to continue my previous playthrough, but with the new changes I’m actually looking forward to starting again.

Excited hope it will be good. I played at launch and had a good time. Yah it has issues but the story and my character I recall fondly.

Hard part is gonna to decide whether to play my original guy or a little new once since they added so much and also new story. Felt like I had closure and my ending had my character leave the city… So might feel wierd bringing him back.

Nice! We don’t need the same number of sub as long as the community is more active!
