I’m trying to subscribe to communities in other instances but they falsely appear empty. It is not a matter of languages as I see some people suggesting. I have tried choosing English as well as Undetermined without success. Other communities in the same instances appear as they should, without any issues. I have tried from different browsers and even without logging in, fresh browser window, with cleared cache, I open Vlemmy, search for those communities without logging in and I get the same issue. Communities belong to different instances, I can access everything through Lemmy.world although said communities are not in Lemmy.world

Yeah, but it’s not just the comments. Number of subscribers also shows as 0 while it’s not

Again, different instances not syncing might also be causing the issues you have mentioned.

We all hope these are ‘baby’ issues with Federation that will be ironed out eventually.

It’s a strange behaviour though, because the instances sync but apparently not 100% or something? I have tried to figure out if all communities on a certain instance appear empty through Vlemmy, but it looks like most communities on said instance appear as expected and just a few don’t sync. For example, take lemmy.world or kbin.social. Not all communities on lemmy.world or kbin.social appear empty (as would be the case if those instances weren’t syncing with Vlemmy), just a handful.

So far, from the instances I have tried, only lemmy.world ‘sees’ all communities everywhere without issues but it has blown up with subscribers and it’s horribly stressed to its limits and slow, almost non usable
