Voters in parts of Alabama will head to the polls Tuesday for the second time this primary season. After the U.S. Supreme Court dismantled a key section of the 1965 Voting Rights Act when it ruled that it’s unconstitutional to draw district lines based on race, Alabama became one of several southern states to rush to redistrict before the midterm elections to consolidate Republican power.
You guys still vote at the same time you’re working? That’s not healthy for the democracy if people cannot vote.
It depends on the state. In Washington state and many more, we get pamphlets with a pic, statement and who supports them, etc. for all people being voted on. Then we mail in our vote either through the US postal service or a drop box. It’s amazing and you can vote naked.
Same in Oregon. Meanwhile the entire city of Houston gets one location, for the whole city.
