    Why is it shocking? The us is a capitalist and egocentric entity. It is the greed and the violence. The result is they don‘t care for each other. And you know it.🤷

            I wasn’t sure if you were being sarcastic. I had only heard of the US being #1 in raw dollar figures, and that was because it is (was?) the largest economy in the world. In terms of percentage of GDP, I’ve never heard of the US being #1 in foreign aid. There were usually several other countries ahead when I’ve heard of rankings. However, I don’t know if that was always the case and never looked it up.

      It’s lowkey true, if presumptive. People migrate here literally for the ability to dictate the lives of others and form their own little kingdoms. They’ll do this even if it pushes them into bankruptcy or death. The promise of being a sovereign is often more alluring than reforming any of these systems for the public good. Better yet, most of them don’t even consider the public good. The world just stops materializing past their fov.
