I’m curious if this is a “dogs” community vs a “bad clip art” community?
Is this a community for sharing dogs? Or an avenue for anyone to shit out dog-adjacent crap that is unmistakeable from clip art???
And keep in mind… A single “bad clip art” rule can change this community… while opening the door to shitty doodles that tangentially reference dogs, all while claiming bad clip art makes up a dogs community.
Suddenly this /c feels like an AI cuddle pic community, not ANYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with ACTUAL DOGS.
Curious, do you want to see people’s dogs? You know, animals with a history, personality etc…. Or should this be a community of folks looking at cutesy hallmark clipart?
Most people would just down vote something they didn’t like and move on.
They did that, then started to rant under a > 1 month old post and then made a new post with the same content as the rant. Likely so more people can see it.
I always have a lot of respect for people that post exactly 0 content, don’t moderate any community and then still expect everyone to cater to their needs and preferences ┐( ˘_˘)┌
The internet is Serious Business, dontyouknow.
And if they’re talking about the posts I think they’re talking about, I’m even more confused! They posted I think twice in the past week?
You know, you can just block users on Lemmy. Then you don’t see their content.
I’m also not a huge fan of the art posts, but going by the vote counts on them other people seem to enjoy them so imo they should be welcome here. Not to mention @LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone posts a lot of other really great content and is generally a really positive force for this comm (and the fediverse as a whole imo) so it’s not like she’s flooding this comm with only art-themed posts or anything.
At the end of the day this is a community space, and the community seems to approve of these posts - so if they’re not meant for you and I specifically, I think that’s okay.
I can dig it and ultimately it’s a community thing. Funny though the account constantly has like 25 upvotes and zero commenters supporting, especially now. We’re posting… but what about the constant 25 upvoters who seem to love shitty clipart?
Still say we should have a “hallmark clip art” community for this stuff and dogs can be actual dog content. Quality wise I do not see a difference between this stuff and AI. Same absolute value.
OP is generally a “positive” contributor but also a lame bs contributor. They post shit like “trans women are women” in a women’s sub and even that community’s general response is “um ok… so what?” As in there’s no fucking point in saying “clouds are cloudy” in a clouds based community.
The poster doesn’t really further any convo, content or anything. They’re just posting the most basic slop. Same absolute value as ai slop.
They don’t really add anything. They basically virtue signal the most basic and banal shit.
I’d argue this approach does detract from the overall quality of the community.
Where’s the positive contribution amongst all that repetitive, low hanging slop? Where do we all benefit?
That’s my vibe as well. If people like it, I’m not gonna stop it so long as it’s dog related.
Complaint community is that way man
