That’s what I gathered. I needed his death certificate to get into his bank account and he had just gotten some backpay from applying for disability. I don’t remember what was said exactly, but they asked at the funeral home if I was going to accept responsibility or whatever for the costs. I implied I wanted to back out after I heard the amount and had gotten the certificate, and they implied that I was going to be held accountable if I did.
Technically I came out on top, but just barely. I mostly did it for my sibling as they had a few good memories before he went to shit, and they wanted the ashes.
