Those who are not repulsed by the idea of using products from the creators of Facebook known for privacy infringement is a red flag.
“Person wearing Meta Glasses is an instant red flag”, fixed the headline
This is overwhelmingly a male phenomenon. That shouldn’t be glossed over. And the article talks about why men might be more drawn to these.
Fair point. “Men doing anything while wearing pervert glasses huge red flag”. Not exclusive to dates.
Meta sold more than 7 million pairs of the Ray-Bans in 2025
Jesus i didn’t realize how many of them are out there

77 million voted Trump.
They’re fucking everywhere it’s terrifying. I’m old and married, I’ll be fine, but I’m really concerned for the young women out there :(
Wired passed on calling them “pervert glasses”.
Cowards.
Wired is just the Sharper Image Catalog
I recently saw a story that claimed some guy wears the glasses as a form of protection from lying women.
I don’t know if it’s BS or not, but the fact that I can’t tell, doesn’t seem like a good thing for society.
How would that even work? Wouldn’t they have to film the entire intercourse which would be straight out illegal? Because I assume we’re talking about false rape allegations, not lying about their hobbies or something. Sounds like a bad excuse to gather dirt and bully someone later.
I could see that unfortunately. I’ve had the unfortunate luck to meet people (both men and women but more women) that to call snakes would be an insult to the snake.
On a date though? Listen, keep an open mind, and cut bait if they do something that betrays your comfort zone. Avoid compromising situations, you don’t know them, that’s why it’s a date. No matter what you have to open up and trust just a little, and recording for legal and training purposes just ain’t that.
So imho, as a person that absolutely understands wanting help with social interactions and dealing with trust issues, I don’t believe 99% men saying this is the reason they need the perve glasses on.
as a form of protection from lying women.
rapist says what?
People who lie about SA/etc. and destroy people’s lives are unfortunately real (regardless of gender/sex) and isn’t that uncommon. This is an extremely sensitive and controversial issue for everyone, that I don’t think can be fairly distilled into a sweeping generalized accusation.
isn’t that uncommon.
More uncommon than rape and sexual assault.
“X suffers more so Y issues don’t matter.”
Be better.
I never said they don’t matter. Work on your reading comprehension.
What were you saying then? I also don’t see another interpretation tbh
Why weren’t they wearing body cams prior if it’s the real reason?
Probably the same reason you’re not wearing one either. It’s not a problem until it happens to you.
I didn’t want to have to put cameras all around both the outside AND inside my house either, but after breakins and vandalism the police proved to me I’m completely on my own. My insurance also dropped me after I tried to make a claim “without sufficient evidence.”
If all these men are claiming all these women are out to get them and make false statements, they would have already been using every tool available, hence they would have been wearing some form of body cam prior to this. They are simply saying it now, because it’s way more discreet to use these glasses and potentially use them for other purposes.
If you are using cameras for some kind of defense, you make them loud and proud, not super discreet. They are designed to be a visual deterrent so the possible crime is less likely to happen in the first place.

If you aren’t an influencer or streamer, or whatever, what is going through your head when you do that? Do you want to relive a rejection?
I am so glad that I never got into the whole thick rimmed glasses hype.
I wear Lindbergs as my daily driver
Other red flags:
Man owning Meta glasses.
Man using Meta products.
ManMen bad.
I’m a man. It was a joke.
God, so sensitive
