Hello guys! A person I know recently got into Rednote and came across different posts by people with their locations set in China or Chinese guys claiming to to be living in Western countries and those posts claimed stuff like;
-VPN happens to be banned in Xinjiang Autonomous Region
-Uyghur langauge has been crushed and they speak and write Mandarian now while all other groups in China speak their own langauges(he mentioned Inner Mongolia for some reason)
-There is excessive security in Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the people get oppressed there
-Muslims in general are forbidden from proselytizing(guy is religious and for some reason thinks this is an important thing) and that’s against religious freedom(and he claims that there are underground Christian churches there that do proselytize secretly) (this last point is pretty wierd really)
Thanks (and what about the whole “crushing the Uyghur language” myth? How do I debunk that for that fellow? )
It’s on their currency, their shops, their road signs, they learn it in school, it’s used as part of cultural rejuvenation and for tourism etc. Also just everyday use.

Part of the underlying islamophobic racism of those perpetuating the uyghur myth is that they equate salafist takfiri with the whole of islam and if muslims aren’t this very specific relatively new branch then they aren’t “real muslims”, which shouldn’t be surprising as these are apparently the only acceptable types of religion for western imperialism.
Also the west neither care about muslims nor chinese but somehow cry crocodile tears about chinese muslims. Literal genocide going on as we speak in west asia.
One more point came up; The Xinjiang Autonomous Region is controlled by Han Chinese or puppet Uyghur that work to destroy the region actively
Sounds like they do not approve of self governance if it’s not west approved. They want subservience to themselves not autonomy and when they don’t find it they project their sins. Uyghurs’ jumps in HDI and wealth don’t need western genocide apologist placation to survive.

Tell them to open youtube dot com and search Xinjiang travel blog. There’s Uyghur language everywhere, both spoken and written. You can’t hide it.
Meanwhile ask how many first nations languages have been lost entirely in Canada, the US and Australia as a result of colonialism.
