Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew over Greece, Italy, France and Canada on Thursday on his way to address the UN, despite an International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in November 2024, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Gaza since October 2023.
Netanyahu arrived in the US for a short visit to address the UN General Assembly in New York, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani has said he does not have the authority to arrest the Israeli leader.

France shooting down Netanyahu would be the end of NATO immediately. There would be no war with NATO because NATO wouldn’t exist anymore.
A European nation assassinating Netanyahu would immediately plunge the entire Middle East into massive war, destroy the global market, and likely draw the US into war in Europe.

And just like your second example, public support wouldn’t matter in the slightest. We’re literally at war with Iran right now with basically nobody supporting it.
But France would have no allies even in Europe if they assassinated a Western leader like Netanyahu. They’d be a global pariah for plunging the world into a depression that would make the Great Depression look like child’s play.
I dunno if you’ve been paying attention, but that’s already happening because America is doing what Israel wants. If anyone stepped up to stop America or Israel in the slightest, we would avoid catastrophic depression.
How did we go from the mandated air denial by international law to shooting down an aircraft?
What’s your proposed response when said aircraft doesn’t follow your air denial and enters your airspace anyway?
There’s only two options. You either send fighters up and follow them until they leave, or you enforce said denial and shoot the aircraft down.
Then at least do that.
But they won’t even do that.
