Eleven men are due to stand trial, denying a range of offences including rape and attempted rape, with the abuse alleged to have taken place between 2018 and November 2025.
They are Philip Wild, 58, from Stockport; Jordan Wallace, 31, from Manchester; Alan Keelan, 42, from Manchester; Jonathan Kirk, 43, from Stockport; Robert Stewart, 70, from Stockport; Mohammed Sabir, 28, of no fixed abode; Graham Brougham, 74, from Northwich in Cheshire; Richard Townsend, 37, from Heywood in Greater Manchester; Karl Lindsay, 55, from Taunton in Somerset; Daniel Rayner, 42, from Whitstable in Kent; and David Graves, 59, from Ilkeston in Derbyshire.
This is starting to sound like a British version of the Dominique Pelicot case, in which she was raped over a decade by 72 men.
They might have been exposed by that very case, it had a whole online forum component for “sleep sex fetishists”
The US has also recently found men doing this sort of crime:

But I am not comfortable calling it a fetish when it’s being carried out IRL (it’s a crime). I also am not sure “sleep fetish” is the motivational cause. I think these men are just rapists.
My understanding is that rape is often opportunistic, the rapist does so because they want sex and are willing to use someone elses body to get it (rather than being driven by some ideal of “sleep sex”).
If it involved giving a “forget drug” doesed beforehand they’d happily still do that rape. If it involved someone being bound in an unwilling bondage scenario in the dark, and them taking turns - they’d still rape.
They’re rapists. I think that’s the motivating factor. They’re not motivated by a fetish that we can shift “the influence” to, they’re just rapists. They’d make the decision to rape in lots of different scenarios.
Throw the book at the prick!
