What we call Middle-East is part of South West Asia + Egypt (I’m not sure why) (+ Turkey?). Alternatively we can also use Arabia (or Arabian Peninsula) + Levant instead of the vague South West Asia
egypt is historically and politically more connected to asia than most of the rest of africa isn’t. there’s also the greek rule for a while.
west asia or MENA tend to be used as alts but the term isn’t exactly offensive and gets the point across succiently so i don’t think it’s worth too many grains of brain power avoiding/replacing

I think they just don’t know what to do or don’t believe it at first, they weren’t exactly prepared to see someone possibly die. I’ve seen a few traumatic incidents where people are oddly chill before most really grasp it fully. Also they are football fans, the way he falls at first doesn’t look much different than some bad hits I’ve seen, and they are spectators, the ref does run to him immediately.

Fair point, I’m not used to American football, and everything I’ve seen from it just always strikes me as too violent in general. That may just be the reason why the lack of reaction from most of them is so startling to me.
It is too violent, I hardly watch US football and in the few games I’ve seen the last couple years there have been 2 or 3 concussions that looked as much like someone dieing as this video, with apparent brain damage due to posturing while unconscious, as disturbing or more to me as this video. Most people there have probably seen someone fall hard and go unconscious, it’s kind of fucked that they should be used to seeing that but I think that could be part it.

ive seen some weird shit happen live in person. like accidents etc. nothing this crazy like a death, but a like somebody clocking somebody with no warm up, heavy equipment failing dangerously or a large animal suddenly loose and alarmed in the wrong context with traffic and people buzzing about unawares.
when few are really paying much attention to their surroundings, just sort of in their own heads, if it doesn’t make a loud noise or flash, most people just kinda stare blankly as their mind processes it because it’s so far outside the expectation.
