“complete” yet fails to run included games
I kinda expect better journalism from Tom’s hardware
I also feel like if this project has any merit whatsoever, the developer should be contributing their efforts to one of the many established x86 emulation projects
Project was vibe coded within a week

Why? They were never very good.
I kinda had them in the generally-reputable camp
Has something changed or is this just a blind spot of mine?
I had them in the “generally compromised by its advertising and sponsorship deals”, like most publications in the industry. If I have to sift through puff pieces and try to figure if they’re trying to influence opinions, then it’s not worth reading them.
How is this different than Fabrice Bellard’s achievement in 2011? https://bellard.org/jslinux/
Bellard actually developed jslinux himself, this project, on the other hand, was vibe-coded.
Don’t know why it’s considered newsworthy.
Claude gets a development credit, so we guess you could say e486-web was (partially) vibe-coded.
It looks like a fork that lacks credit, generated with Claude.
