Chinese smartphones dominated the Russian market in the first half of 2023, exceeding 70% of all sales, leading consumer electronics retailer M.Video-Eldorado said, up from about 55% last year.
MIUI is frankly kinda bloated with ads, and I’m sure it collects more data on me than I’d care to know, but with Netguard and F-droid apps it becomes quite usable. (I’d like to try LineageOS, but right now I can’t afford to mess around with my phone and risk breaking something). The hardware is undeniably good: my phone is from 2018 and the battery still holds charge very well, and for basic functionality (that is, not games) it suffers from no noticeable slowdowns, even after more than five years (and it being a cheapo phone even back then).
