Nice to see some water falling from the sky here in Flagstone. Hopefully it helps with the fires here and Beaudesert.
First things first. First! Second I gotta be up in 5 hours why am I awake still!!!
US trip log, day 3: Did a “Hollywood Tour” of Los Angeles and saw exciting things like ‘behold: the house that Michael Jackson died in!’ while jostling for street space with other buses full of people looking equally as uncomfortable and listening to his number one hits being piped through the minibus stereo. Actually had a lot of interesting stuff too, and got to see some cool areas of the city but man…
The small area stereotypically known as “Hollywood” (walk of fame, Chinese theatre, etc) is super depressing with constant harassment to buy gaudy baubles from the locals. As bad as any tourist trap market in Vietnam with the hands out constantly. Crazy how influential watch a small geographic area has been on the world though.
Also went to the Peterson Automotive Museum which is amazing. So many stunning old cars in incredible condition. Also featured a full floor of Tesla which was really interesting. Such a pity Musk has turned out to be such a wanker because Tesla cars really are an incredibe achievement that (rightly, IMO) get described as the just important change in automotive history since the Model T. Which is kinda ironic since the Model T was responsible for the move away from electric vehicles back in the day…
