      I would guess something like the “always on” displays in watches and phones - your computer could be off, but very low-power widgets could display the time or basic info.

    That’s interesting. I still have old 27" iMac from 2011 I sometimes use as an external display because it has this target display mode feature. But they got rid of that for some reason on newer models. Maybe this is one way they may bring it back?

      Target display would be huge if they bring it back. I have a Mac Studio, but I’d pick up a new iMac just to use as a display and maybe some sort of server for the actual machine.
