I’ve been using Openboard as my keyboard since 2020, and I’m pleased with it. However, I’ve noticed that the latest update was back in August 2022. Does this mean it’s deprecated?

Are there any other simple FOSS Android keyboards that you have experience with and can recommend? I’d love to hear it!

    Yes, there is FOSS keyboard I can recommend.

    Florisboard

    Florisboard is FOSS and it has a lot of customization.

    I don’t have to think about the keyboard, because it just feels right.

    As for language customization, it also had the layout for my language (Finnish) so that’s cool.

    The link is for github, you can get it with Obtainium or from Fdroid.

    Also, you can check if the Openboard has a lot of open issues on github, if it does, it might be deprecated.
