From what I have learned, Reddit essentially shadowbans you, and it’s likely because of your IP. If you register using a VPN, you’ll be able to see your posts and comments, but others will only see 404s and [deleted]. You can see this first-hand here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/151aawx/merceneros_monero_services/

On Tor (accessing the onion address), you can surprisingly sign up and post, but signing in with a VPN somehow contaminates the account and your subsequent posts and comments won’t appear, shadowbanning you.

Finally I can say what I think. FUCK REDDIT. Honestly, it’s been a terrible experience creating an alt on Reddit. They get shadowbanned instantly and fully banned around 3-6 months later, and there is no way to contact support nor do they give you any reasons why. Almost all of my posts have been auto-censored by Reddit, and I’ve had to regularly contact mods to approve my posts. I really hope this platform gets the attention it deserves. Thank you for creating it! <3

First post here, plz be nice if I do something wrong.

Perhaps as everyone knows, privacy front ends were practically banned last week too (teddit & libreddit). Also one might be interested in quick-checking Reddit’s ToSDR https://tosdr.org/en/service/194

Quite frankly, I had been always wondering why a privacy community (like Monero) was using Reddit. Thinking positively, this was a nice wake-up call. Thanks for stopping using Reddit, finally :)

As r/Monero mod, can confirm that even specifically “allowed” accounts still have to have all their comments manually approved. Just use town.
